Hopsewee Events – Wedding Celebrations

Hopsewee’s historic plantation grounds overlooking the North Santee River and its River Oak Cottage Tearoom create a magical venue for your special day. With its natural beauty and southern charm, historic Hopsewee offers a beautiful start to new beginnings.

3 or 5 HOUR – CLASSIC WEDDING CELEBRATION

Includes:

• Use of the plantation grounds for the rehearsal the night before the ceremony (2 hours)
• Up to three (or five) hours for the ceremony and the reception.
• Ample parking for all guests
• Several location choices for your ceremony
• 2-hour portrait session for grounds access prior to the event for wedding pictures (a $250 value – photographer not included).
• Use of the historic and beautifully appointed plantation house for bride and attendants to dress.
• Use of the River Oaks Cottage Tea Room for our elegant catering service and for the guests to mingle.
• Venue pricing includes tables, linens, chairs.

Tenting (optional for less than 50 people)

Dance Floor – 15×15 parquet dance floor

Menu Options – All wedding catering at Hopsewee is prepared on-site in our professional catering kitchen and designed to complement your celebration. Our menus are flexible and customizable, allowing couples to select their favorites while keeping the planning process simple and stress-free. All china and flatware included in all food options.

• Brunch Reception – A light, Southern/Lowcountry inspired menu with a mix of breakfast and lunch flavors
• Light Reception – An elegant afternoon reception with Hopsewee tea influence
• Heavy Hors D’oeuvres Reception– A substantial grazing menu, keeping the reception casual and social.
• Dinner Stations– A more formal reception option

Optional Beer, Wine and Champagne toast. Or, Champagne toast only.

Optional Liquor – Liquor drink set ups provided by Hopsewee Events. Drink set ups include Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Ginger Ale, Tonic Water, Orange Juice, Lemons and Limes, Drink Stirs, Beverage Napkins, Plastic Cups, Plenty of Ice.

• To reserve your date, we would require a deposit which would also serve as a security deposit in the unlikely event that some damage occurred. That deposit will be returned by mail after the wedding is over.
• Assistance with rehearsal and wedding organization would be available upon request. You would not be required to have a wedding planner but a “day of” coordinator would be advised.
• You need to provide your Officiant, your Photographer, decorations, your wedding cake, flowers and music.

HOPSEWEE MICRO WEDDINGS

Hopsewee is now offering Micro Weddings for couples who want a smaller guest list without sacrificing beauty, history, or hospitality.

Micro Wedding Packages Start at $850

Two-hour Ceremony & Light Reception

Includes:

• Wedding Ceremony
• Reception with Light Hors D’oeuvres
• Wedding Arch
• Small Two-tiered Wedding Cake
• Tea, Water, Beer & Wine
• Champagne Toasts
• Licensed Officiant

Other Events

Hopsewee is a great location for private parties, showers, bridal luncheons, rehearsal dinners or just to visit for lunch. We serve lunch and conduct tours Tuesday through Saturday (unless we have a wedding or special event). The River Oak Cottage hosts up to 60 people for a seated dinner, and alfresco dining on the grounds accommodates additional guests.
